The quick answer

Calf Botox means injecting botulinum toxin into selected calf muscles to reduce muscle activity and, gradually, muscle bulk. It is intended for muscular prominence, not fat removal or weight loss. Because your calf muscles help you walk and exercise, the consultation must address function as well as appearance. A clinic offering it does not establish that you need it.

What is being changed?

The gastrocnemius is the prominent calf muscle often discussed in cosmetic calf contouring. Reducing its activity can change its size over time. That is a different goal from removing fat or treating a medical cause of swelling.

Our editorial take: the first decision is whether a doctor identifies muscular prominence that could reasonably respond. Size alone is not an indication. Explain your exercise habits, walking requirements and what change you expect before discussing any injection plan.

What the studies show—and what they cannot establish

A 2018 randomized, double-blind pilot compared two toxin formulations in 22 patients over six months. Calf circumference decreased; measured strength tests did not show a significant reduction and no serious adverse effects were reported in that small sample. It did not compare treatment with no injection and cannot rule out uncommon harms.

A 2024 study with 17 patients per group compared different muscle-targeting approaches. Both changed contour, but adding the soleus did not show an obvious additional clinical benefit. These findings do not prescribe the right muscle, dose or expected change for an individual patient.

Could it affect walking or exercise?

Yes, function needs discussion because the treatment intentionally reduces muscle activity. YAAN's patient information mentions tiredness during intense exercise. A small trial without a measured strength decline is not a guarantee that your walking, running, stairs or sporting performance will be unaffected.

Ask the treating clinician about weakness, fatigue, asymmetry, exercise restrictions and what would require review. Tell them about existing mobility problems and a trip involving long walks. Avoid planning treatment around a claim of ‘no downtime’ without discussing your actual activities.

Toxin prescribing information also warns about spread of effects. Trouble breathing, swallowing or speaking needs immediate medical attention. These US labels do not establish Korean approval for cosmetic calf reduction; ask about the actual product's current local labeling and the proposed use.

How to read these Seoul clinic prices

The table records public menu lines checked on 21 October 2026. Renewme explicitly excludes VAT; the tax-inclusive figures shown here are calculations using 10%, not separately quoted clinic totals. Its page advertises a one-month touch-up with an exception for the German category. Confirm eligibility and whether the same terms apply at your branch.

YAAN publishes named Xeomin and Allergan options for a 100-unit body treatment. Neither source settles every per-leg versus total-dose question. Matching ‘100 units’ across different products does not establish equivalent treatment. These listings cannot support a cheapest-clinic or best-clinical-quality ranking.

A useful clinic shortlist starts with assessment

Compare the doctor's explanation of suitability, exact product, planned coverage, written total and review arrangements. Ask who evaluates an unwanted result or functional change when you have left Korea. A review a month later may not fit a short holiday.

This page compares published information from Renewme and YAAN; it is not a visit report or a quality endorsement. More menu lines should only be added when the device-independent details—product, quantity, area, conditions and source—can be kept intact.

Questions to take to the clinic

  1. Is my calf prominence mainly muscle, and what change is realistic?
  2. How might this affect walking, stairs, running or my usual sport?
  3. Which exact product and locally labeled use are proposed?
  4. Are the units quoted for both calves together or for each leg?
  5. What is the final total with VAT, and what are the review or touch-up terms?
  6. Who assesses weakness or another unexpected effect after I leave Korea?

Common questions

Does calf Botox remove fat?

No. Its intended cosmetic effect comes from reducing activity and bulk in selected calf muscles. A doctor should assess the cause of the contour before discussing treatment.

How much is calf Botox in Seoul?

Published examples checked on 21 October 2026 include Renewme's Korean-category 100-unit line at ₩150,000 before VAT and YAAN's Xeomin 100-unit line at ₩290,000 with VAT status to confirm. These are not equivalent-product quotes; exact brand, coverage and total versus per-leg quantity need confirmation.

Which clinic is best for calf Botox in Korea?

Price pages cannot establish that. This guide compares published Renewme and YAAN information and unresolved questions. Choose only after a qualified clinician assesses suitability, function, product-specific risks and aftercare.

Will it make walking harder?

Weakness or fatigue is a relevant concern when reducing calf muscle activity. Discuss your mobility, sport and travel plans with the clinician. Small studies do not guarantee unaffected walking or exercise for everyone.

Sources and research notes (5)

This is sourced editorial research, not a hands-on treatment review or an independent clinical trial. Device specifications and manufacturer claims are distinguished from human study findings. Study size, protocol and comparison groups limit what can be concluded. The practical trade-offs labelled as our editorial take are interpretations, not proven superiority. Medical suitability and travel clearance require the treating clinician's assessment.
